After we left Philadelphia we headed to D.C. to catch a session at the temple that evening. The drive to the temple, with it coming out of nowhere, did not disappoint. It was such a great experience, I'm sure I will never get over that way again, and I'm glad we gotta go.
The next morning we headed into the capitol. We were expecting horrible traffic, but we did not hit any and the drive was actually quite lovely.
We stopped at the Washington Monument first, but this is about as close as we got.
I saw this blue bird on the way to the White House and just had to snap a picture.

My eyes are turning green. Growing up, the Washington D.C. temple was my favorite--its picture hung in what is now Ezra's room. Tom Clancy even mentions it in one of his novels. You mentioned it coming out of nowhere, did you know that when it was first built it caused all kinds of accidents on the freeway there? People were startled by its beauty. Feel free to come to Woodland and use our computer to post. Even with the 2 hours spent in the car, you'd still finish quiker :)

I'm so jealous! I really want to go to the Washington D.C. temple. It is on my wish list. I hope someday Rich and I will go.
I was just thinking the same thing as Sherrie. You should bring your photos down here and use our quick internet. Maybe next time Ava and Ezra have a playdate.
