Family Pictures

We got some new family pics a while back and I am finally prepared to attempt uploading them. We had a lot of fun taking them and here are just a few. On a side note, I am sure you all know that our IVF did not work and hopefully we will be trying again next month. (We meet with the doctor tomorrow to discuss our options.)

IVF Update

I promise someday that I will post all about our trip to Utah, seeing Thomas, cleaning out the pool and other random happenings of the last couple of months. But for now I am going to tell you our latest news. I had my egg retrieval yesterday. I had 39 follicles which gave up 19 eggs, 18 of which were mature. Of those 18, 12 fertilized. They froze 8 of them this morning for later use, and are letting the other 4 continue to culture. With any luck we will have 2 good looking embryos to be transferred on Friday or possibly Sunday. Keep us in your prayers! With all the time that we waited, the money that we spent, and the pain we have endured, we cannot wait for another little one or two, so we really hope this works.

We should get a picture just like this of the embryos they actually transfer. I think that is pretty cool!

Easter Egg

This year was Ezra's first year at a Bowling Easter event.  He started the day by searching out his Easter basket.  I really like this picture of him inspecting his Buzz Lightyear Pez dispenser.

Anticipating the big hunt with Ava. (It was actually the weekend before!)

I also really like this one of him checking out this frog-shaped egg.

I titled this post as such because I'm including a few bonus pictures from before Easter.  The first set is Ezra's first time using real binoculars.  The other picture is what he was actually looking at.

Much to my dislike, EmmaLee started painting Ezra's toenails when he was little.  Now every time she re-does her nails he wants his done too.  The other day she left everything out and Ezra decided he wanted to do a different color on his own.  It may not look like it in these pictures, but he actually did a pretty good job, especially with his toes.  He only got a little bit on the carpet and the nails were painted fairly well despite the excess.

Hard to Wait

Bob and I went to the fertility doctor again today. Long story short, they ordered some more tests on Bob and basically recommended that we save our money by not doing any more treatment until they determine whether or not his problem is caused by a lack of hormones. I know it's the right thing to do, and if we have to move to IVF it is definitely good because we will need all the money we currently have saved (Our insurance doesn't cover any of it.). It is just so hard to WAIT! Ezra is only getting older, and it really depresses me that he will be so old by the time he gets a sibling. It's really not fair to him, he is such a great kid, but what can you do? I am also scared that we will do IVF and it won't work the first time, and we will have no money for a round two! It is all just so depressing and stressful. I try to have faith in the Lord and his timing, but it is such an emotional roller coaster ride. I don't mean to sound so down, but I just needed to vent! It is so hard to hear Ezra pray every night for a brother or sister (sometimes brother and sister) and know that I have no control over it! Keep praying for us!

Un-posted Phone Pics!

I feel bad that we haven't blogged much lately (or pretty much since we moved), but I never really take pictures because we never do anything that exciting. So instead I will post all the pictures of things that we did that were only documented on my phone (Probably not in chronological order). Enjoy!

Back in August we were watching D&J's kids and daily picking two different gardens.
Despite our best efforts we still came across whoppers like this fairly often.

We also went to Zions camp for some fishing. Sadly this is the only one we caught.

We ate at Home Town Buffet and I asked Bob to get Ezra some sprinkles for his ice cream.
Bob came back with a bowl full of sprinkles which Ezra proceeded to make a huge mess with.

More fishing (but this time at a nasty pond). Bob was so excited to take Ezra fishing.
After a few nasty outings like this for 2 inch fish I told Bob he had to scout out
locations before taking Ezra and I along!

These next few come from the Butte County Fair. It was okay, but would have been better
if Ezra was a little older or had a ten year old sibling. He was too little to ride alone on some rides,
and Bob and I were too big to ride with him! LAME-O!

He really enjoyed the little kid section.

Sorry I didn't rotate this one and am too lazy to rectify the situation.

He loved digging for quarters! I think he found a couple of dollars worth so wahoo!

Again, too lazy to fix this picture. We went to see the salmon run.
I had no idea salmon were so big! It was pretty cool to see them jump.

We went to a fun park in Chico with the cousins. I actually did blog that outing,
but these are pictures from the ice cream trip to finish off the day.

We got to go to opening night for the Kings in Dec. We had awesome seats
and it was a great game! Thanks for taking us Craig!

One of our many outings in the truck. I think we were taking garbage/recyclables to the dump.
Ezra always wants my glasses, but usually wears them upside down. He said the big
dip is for my nose then the little dip is for his nose.

In January we went to Greylodge with all the cousins (minus Rachel and Nathan).
I wonder how old they will all be before we get a good picture.

Ezra has hypo-calcification on some of his teeth thanks to the cleft.
Sadly he had to get a filling when some of his tooth broke off.
He HATED it, but is getting better about the dentist.

And last but not least Ezra can right his own name. He did this with no help or direction.

The rest of December

We had a great December with lots of family around (something we haven't had pretty much since we got married). It was so wonderful, even if at times I kind of missed when it was just us. Ezra LOVED having Parker and Zoie stay with us and was oh so depressed when they left. Ezra thought it was the best Christmas ever, but when church went for over an hour longer than it was supposed to I was in such a sour mood! I was completely unprepared to entertain a three year old for that long (as was pretty much everyone else there) so everyone was seeming pretty annoyed. A good number of people just got up and left. I felt totally guilty having that attitude about Church especially on Christmas. Pretty lame huh! Luckily I vented and the rest of the day went much better.

Ezra was mostly excited about the candy cane, rather than Santa and the Mrs.
These are cookies I made for Bob's work party. Thanks Anne for all the help!

We went hiking at Bald Rock with the McDowells. It was a lot of fun!

We also did some repelling while we were there.  I repelled too, but Bob was too busy
checking out my booty or something so there is no photographic evidence. It was fun!

On Christmas Eve we had just put Ezra to bed when Dave came over to return Parker and Zoie's blankets. He knocked then opened the door with a deep "Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas". Ezra started shouting "Santa is here, Santa is here!" It was pretty funny, and he wasn't too disappointed when we told him it was just Uncle Dave and that Santa wouldn't come until he was asleep.
Ezra was pretty excited to see his name! Santa brought him an easel!
It has been getting some good use, way to go Santa!

I didn't take many pictures on Christmas,
but this shows you some of the madness opening presents with all the cousins.
Luckily most of the presents were already opened.
These are just from Grandma and Grandpa and the cousins.

Enjoying the toys! (This was actually supposed to be for his Birthday, but I forgot about it.
Good thing Christmas is only 3 weeks later!)

Everybody liked Abby's gift from Santa!

The traditional New Year's Pinata! Can you tell Bob and Ezra picked it out.
He still needs to work on his candy pick up skills. He gets a couple of things and then
runs off to enjoy the spoils. Someday he will figure out to go for quantity!
